This is an extract from the letter we received from Operation Smile which says it all really;
'I am writing to thank you and everyone at the Rotary Club of Erith for your recent donation, such an amazing contribution that is making a huge difference to children’s lives around the world.
For all too many children born with a cleft lip or cleft palate in the developing world, the harsh reality of social isolation and physical pain is a part of their daily lives. If these children do not receive timely surgery, the effects can be enormous, with many unable to eat or speak properly, unable to attend school, or play an active role in their community.
Together we can create a world where no child suffers from lack of access to safe, well timed surgery, where no parent has to tell their child that there are no options or that there is no hope. This is why your support is so important; with your generous help, we are able to reach more children and help countries better cope with the surgical needs of their population.'
