Summertime brought a special day out for the special children of an Eastbourne school in June 2025.
Hazel Court School students – youngsters with physical and learning difficulties – were treated to a magical “Fun Day Out” organised by our Club.
The day’s activities were staged as part of the Rotary movement’s national “Fun Day Out” campaign. The 75 Hazel Court students – travelling in two coaches – descended on the popular Drusilla’s zoo and park in Alfriston. The special transport was provided by the Southfield Multi academy Trust.
Drusilla’s Zoo afforded the students a special day to experience the senses and smells associated with a zoo, along with the tactile experiences of sensory touch, the sounds of the animals and a very special visual experience.
