Santa's Sleigh starts this year's appeal at Bexhill Christmas Lights-on Event

The annual Bexhill Christmas Lights-on Event was looking very dodgy, the weather overcast and wet all morning, however, the skies cleared and the whole event enjoyed dry weather.

We setup our sleigh in Devonshire Square after 2pm and Santa arrived at 3pm accompanied by the Town Crier. The event started slowly but as the evening approached we saw more people arriving to join in the fun.

We were alongside the donkeys from Guildford Donkey Sanctuary and and The Bexhill Lions mulled wine stall.

Our Santa, President David Dixson, had a very busy time with over 200 people coming along to chat to Santa and have loads of photos taken with him. We got through three tubs of sweets and raised £106 towards our Santa's Sleigh Appeal.

Congratulations to Perry and everyone who came and made the event possible. Hats off to David for being a very approachable and jolly Santa.
