A very entertaining Conference

District Conference in Eastbourne last weekend was again joint with London District 1130. A successful two day rather than 3 day event this year to reduce costs to attend.

There was a wide range of entertaining and informative speakers including Tricia Stewart Ms October in the 1997 ‘alternative’ WI calendar, Simon May the award winning composer of the Eastenders music and many others, Rev Kate Bottley who had us in stitches and many other informative and entertaining speakers.

Saturday evening was different with no Gala Dinner this year but a well supported entertaining evening of magic with Wayne Trice followed by The Westenders singing many songs from stage and films.

In the final session DGE Graham introduced outline plans for the 2026 Conference which is to be held in Eastbourne once again after considering alternative locations, on 17th and 18th October next year. He hopes to see many of us there. Save the date!
