At the AGM, two Past Presidents of the club were presented with special awards.
Roger Batey, who joined the club 22 years ago and was President of the club in 2009, was presented by Rotary District Governor Paul Frostick with an Avenues of Service Award for his outstanding efforts in club service.
Rodney Gadsden, who was club President back in 1996 having joined Bexhill Rotary Club in 1983, was presented by Bexhill’s current President Perry Puddefoot with a very special certificate honouring and in appreciation of his exceptional 40 years of membership and his upholding of Rotary ideals.
Two pupils from St. Richards Catholic College also joined us to tell The Club how they got on at the Rotary Young Leadership Award (RYLA).
Meda Radu had arranged for Logan Adams and Hana Bolton, both age fifteen, to attend the RYLA weekend residential leadership experience in April at the Bowles Outdoor Centre at Eridge Green near Tunbridge Wells.
Both Logan and Hana were most eloquent and started off by thanking The Club for sending them on this weekend course for 14 to 17 year olds, which is organised by District and other local clubs.
