Last October Bexhill Rotary Club was awarded a special Rotary Citation for all their work in the community, but to add to that rare honour the club has now been presented with a Civic Award from local people as well.
The presentation of the Civic Award took place last Saturday (18th March) at the Bexhill Town Meeting and was in recognition for all the work Bexhill Rotary Club does in the community but in particular helping the local foodbank stay afloat by collecting donations every week.
Michelle Pannell, Project Manager for Bexhill & Battle Foodbanks, who recommended the award to the Town Council said, “It was a joy for me to write Bexhill Rotary Club’s nominations and update the Town Council on the way you so selflessly work to help us and the people of Bexhill.” She added, “You deserve the recognition and I know that is not why you do it, but I firmly believe that you should acknowledge selfless service and give thanks where they are due.”
