PERRY HITS 1,000+ MILES ON THE LONG ROAD!!”

Latest update below

President  Perry Puddefoot, set himself a real challenge for his year in office and that is to walk 1,000 miles, he has called this challenge ‘THE LONG ROAD’, and wants to see all his efforts benefit a range of voluntary organisations which include Bexhill & Hastings Mencap, Bexhill Foodbank and local youth groups.

On Monday 6th February Perry completed the 1,000 miles so he is now, as he puts it, working on the Plus!  Perry goes on to say, “I’ve been averaging 140 miles a month so I’ll be aiming for at least another 500 miles before the end of June.”

Perry’s latest group walk took place on Saturday 25th February  meeting at West Parade he was joined by a small group of Rotarians and their partners. They headed off  westward along the Promenade to the end, then across a short section of beach and up the steps to Beaulieu Road.  Then it was on to Cooden Drive, Herbrand Walk, the beach through to Norman’s Bay, and along the back of the beach to Pevensey Bay covering around 6 miles.

Perry will also be entering the Hastings Half Marathon on Sunday 26th March aiming to finish around the 3 hour mark doing a speed walk.  Perry says, “I’ve got a friend joining me but it would be great to see more people walking or even faces in the crowd cheering us on.” See the future event page for timings.

To help Perry on his various trips, he is looking for plenty of sponsorship -donations can be made to THE LONG ROAD fundraising initiative quoting the reference PPWALK:  BEXHILL ROTARY CLUB TRUST FUND .....

Ø Sort code 51-70-12         Account number 65650395

Any donations, whatever the amount, are very welcome and, in these difficult times, REALLY appreciated so thank you for ANY support you can give him and the worthy causes he is collecting for.

Perry will be going on more walks in the coming months so do look out for future dates and locations when they are announced by checking this website.
