Parkinsons UK Presentation

£1,000 for Bexhill Hastings & Rother Support Group.

President Graham attended the local meeting of Parkinsons UK (Bexhill, Hastings and Rother Branch) and presented a cheque for £1000 to Chair Jim Vidler for support and in memory of our dear long term member John Griffiths . The meeting was very well attended and received an informative presentation from the local Specialist Nurse Mike Scott who now solely looks after the 640 local sufferers.
President Graham was looked after by the late Rotarian Frank Batey's wife Doreen pictured. After the presentations there was a splendid afternoon tea and cakes. Graham said that the meeting was a great example of how a local support group enables those suffering to meet together once a month. The progress on research and improvements in treatment support available improving quality of life explained by Nurse Mike was remarkable.
Chris Griffiths was moved by the generosity of our donation and passes her heartfelt thanks to Bexhill Rotary Club.
