September Speaker Meeting

An illustrated talk by Brian Freeland entitled 'A Trip Down the River Charente'. Brian shared memories, charming images and the aroma of Cognac in the air.

Brian Freeland came to give an interesting talk on a trip down the River Charante. This river flows from central France to the Atlantic and as well as passing through many ancient and spectacular villages it visits Cognac, famous for it’s brandy. Then, via the city of Saintes, famous for the Roman amphitheatre the river reaches the ocean near the naval base of Rochefort.

Patrick thanked Brian for his informative talk and the club gave a hearty round of applause.
