We continue to provide service to our local community. A Health Awareness event was organised in conjunction with the Stroke Association. It encouraged people to be aware of their blood pressure and gave them the opportunity to get health and lifestyle information.
Staff came from Bay House Care Home and measured the blood pressure of 140 people. Amanda Meikle’s team from East Sussex Health Trainers recorded people’s height and weight for calculating Body Mass Index and then gave lots of advice about diet and lifestyle. Carol Sargent and her team from YouNique Wellbeing gave taster sessions of reflexology, head and back massage, and Reiki. These were very popular together with the demonstrations of Pilates and Qi Jong. Hearing tests were given by Danny Hellier from Bexhill Hearing Centre.
We are very grateful for the support given by all those organisations taking part on the day and also to Bexhill Rowing Club who lent chairs and tables, Trattoria Italiana for providing a power supply and Showman Audio Visual Limited for providing the marquee and a distortion free sound system.
