Crispian Steel-Perkins took up the trumpet at the age of 10 and after studing at the Guildhall School of Music in London, he became a member of the Sadlers Wells Opera, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the English Chamber Orchestra.
He has also also recorded with popular artists as varied as Led Zeppelin, Kate Bush, Lulu, Cliff Richard, Bob Geldof and Harry Secombe. His work is perhaps most well known by viewers of The Antiques Roadshow as he plays the trumpet that you hear at the start of every programme.
