Rotary Beckenham is organising the 12th Unofficial Poppy walk (now called Poppy Quest) on Sunday 15th October as part of it’s 2023 Poppy Appeal for the Royal British Legion.
The 10km route begins at Bunhill Fields and proceeds through the Barbican, Smithfield, Holborn Viaduct, the Aldwych, Covent Garden,Trafalgar Square and Whitehall to the halfway point, St James’s Park. The return leg is via Victoria Embankment, the Strand, Fleet Street, St Paul’s Cathedral, St Martin-le-Grand, London Wall, Moorgate, back to the start (see map below).
There are 17 questions to answer en route. The first team to complete the circular walk with the highest number of correct answers wins a prize. It’s £15 per adult (children go free) but if he/she raises £50 in sponsorship it’s free to enter for an adult. I have sponsorship forms available on request.
Let me know if you would like to participate and I’ll add you to the list and send you joining notes nearer the time. Please let your friends and family know; we have 40 maps and medals to give out.
