Swanage & Purbeck members and guests enjoyed an evening of gentle competition at the Dorset Golf Resort this week.
Following an encellent one-course meal in the clubhouse, the assembled group wandered across the road to the indoor bowls centre to be met by Ian, a local member of the bowls club, and his colleague. Following a brief introduction to the sport, our group split into teams of three and one singles match to commence friendly hostiities!
Rink 1 appeared to be taking it the most seriously, with the electronic scoreboard being adopted to ensure the scores were accurately recorded! Elsewhere there was a more "laizzez-faire" approach being employed. Some competitors started fast and faded away whist others took their time to settle in and very much came to fore later on - Tracy Crickmore (pictured) in particular managing to hit the jack twice in one end!

At the end of the evening, all confirmed that it has been a lot of fun and that it didn't really matter who won and lost!
Grateful thanks go to Ian and his colleagues for giving up their evenings to help us at least give it a try!
