Revelling in the Riviera!

Swanage & Purbeck Rotarians enjoyed a weekend of inspiration, fellowship and fun at the 2026 District 1110 Conference

The 2026 annual District 1110 Conference saw many Swanage & Purbeck Rotarians and their partners making the journey down to the 'English Riviera' in Devon for a weekend of great speakers, networking and fabulous entertainment.

Running over the weekend of 9th to 11th October, the event at the historic Imperial Hotel, featured over 200 Rotarians and their partners, from clubs the length and breadth of the District, come together to hear about projects and initiatives both UK-based and internationally important.

As well as the inspirational speakers, there was a showcase presenting many of the projects being supported by clubs in our Rotary District as well as the District shop, being run for the final time by Alan Corkhill of the Salisbury club, who rightly received recognition for his tireless efforts over more than 20 years.

Both evenings were a chance for delegates to let their hair down, with a comedy night on the a Friday and an ABBA tribute band on the Saturday and attendees didn't disappoint, playing a full part in the fun and frivolity!

Some of the important messages that came out of the event will now be taken up by clubs who attended but the main message coming out of the event was definitely that Rotarians don't just sit there, are 'People of Action' and will be undertaking their 'Service with a Smile' to 'Create Lasting Impact'!
