Ryde Rotary Swimathon 2014

While there was not the flood of applicants for the 2014 Ryde Rotary Swimathon held in March, what we lacked in numbers of participants we achieved in perseverance, achieving just over £500 in sponsorship money from the participants.

The swimmers ranged in ages from 11 to the mid 70's and didn't they do well.

A number swam over a mile (50 plus lengths of the pool)

Then there was the 11 year old who didn't know when to stop.

He got to 40 lengths well within the time available and then twice his dad encouraged him to go further and he achieved his mile with a minute to spare.

Two of the 70 year olds also achieved the same distance or more.

Still a very enjoyable way of raising money for good causes.

Island Brewery tour

more Fund raiser for EMH. Brewery trip to Island brewery 6-30pm. Brewery is located on Forest Road on the Vittlefield double bend, located down drive between Trumor feeds and Island paving in a green unit at the far end of the drive.

Santas Grotto

more Ryde Rotary Club, Ryde Lions Club and Yelfs Hotel are holding a Santas Grotto in the reading room of Yelfs Hotel. The Grotto will be open on the 22nd 23rd and 24th of December between 12-30 and 15-30 hours for local Children to come and see Santa.
