Helping young families in our community

Providing essential household items to vulnerable young families

Working with NHS Southern Health Family Nurse Partnership we recently purchased a fridge freezer to support a young family to provide healthy meals for their child.

The Family Nurse Partnership employs experienced specialist nurses who offer a voluntary programme to particularly vulnerable, first time, young parents aged 19 or under. The aim of the two year programme is to support young parents in providing their babies with the best possible start in life whilst enabling the parents to achieve their own life aspirations. Sometimes a little extra help is needed along the way. In this instance it was help in purchasing an essential item of household equipment and this is where Rotary was please to step in and assist.
