We were proud to provide financial support to help Nantes-sur-Loire Rotary Club purchase and refit an out-of-service ambulance during 2021.
Working in partnership with the SOS Inceste & Violences Sexuelles Association, the purpose of the mobile vehicle is to enable a listening and counseling service to be delivered to victims of abuse in difficult to reach parts of the locality, and to provide an accessible service to those who are often reluctant to, or experience difficulty in, seeking support.
After dismantling the interior fittings and removing the external warning signs from the bodywork of the ambulance, a consulting room with table, seating and partition wall was created inside. For a final touch the vehicle was repainted by a specialist vehicle painting company. Overall, the work took around 100 hours of volunteer labour, a terrific effort which will help support vulnerable people.
