We were overwhelmed by the hospitality shown to us in Jersey. A generous and welcoming Vin D'Honneur reception at the Town Hall on the first evening set the scene for what was to be a fantastic Conference.
Around 600 Rotarians from our local district gathered to network, exchange ideas and share Rotary Stories. There were some truely inspirational speakers and some great entertainment too.
The Fort Regent Conference Center is impressive, sitting magestically on top of a rock overlooking St Helier. One evening it was lit purple to highlight our goal to "End Polio Now". A private showing of the film BREATHE brought home to us the advances that have been made in conquering this dreadfrul disease and how important it is for us to continue with our mission to eradicate it from the world.
We took part in lots of extracurricular excursions too: the Jersey War Tunnels are fascinating insight into the occupation of the Island, a visit to a vineyard followed by a picturesque coastal walk, and my personnal highlight was having a go at dancing the Lindy Hop with a professional, Fred Astaire look alike, at the Hangar Dance. Note I wore purple that evening to keep with the "Purple for Polio" theme.

back One of the best things about being a Rotarian is having the opportunity to meet so many people, to build relationships and make new friends.
