School Public Speaking

We have been having a busy time recently with the local schools. At our last meeting, we held our annual public speaking competition for S1 and S2 pupils from Armadale and Bathgate Academies. The speakers were free to choose their own topics and present arguments for and against. Both the teams selected very different but topical subjects: Is Katie Price a good role model? and Is Facebook good for communication? The argument were well presented and in the end, the team from Armadale Academy won with their arguments on Facebook topic. The standard of speaking from all four students was remarkably high.
