Student Peace Debate 2nd October 2015
The Chief Minister chairs a debate between students from all 9 island secondary schools.
Chaired by the Chief Minister, Senator Ian Gorst, this year 43 students from all 9 island secondary schools provided a thought provoking and entertaining debate on the issues of the international refugee crisis and Jersey's own expanding population.
When asked to make a decision the students voted 37 Pour, 3 Contre and 3 Abstentions to allow some refugees from Syria to come and live in Jersey.
