A night of surprises was the order of the day at last night’s Handover Dinner. It was held, for the first time, at the Radisson hotel overlooking the St Helier marina on a lovely summer’s evening. After President Ray had pulled all his surprises out of his hat, it was time to hand over the chain of office to President Eamon. To quote President Ray,“Welcome Eamon, it’s all yours”! And so ended another successful year in the 91 year old life of our club, during which there were so many highlights but clearly two stood out in President Ray’s mind. The start of the Good Companions Club Renovation and the declaration of Jersey as a Rotary Peace Community, the first in the British Isles. President Eamon then outlined his plans for the year and his full message can be read here.
A new honorary member the Bailiff of Jersey. Mr William Bailhache not only became a member of our club but was also presented with a copy of the Rotary Book of Peace. It was really good to hear The Bailiff support the five Rotary Principles of Peace and to state that he believed they should be part of the "Jersey Way".
Two Paul Harris Fellowships: David Watkins for his excellent work on numerous projects over the years, latterly at Good Companions and with Funds Management and John Reed a second ruby fellowship for communication via this website and the club email bulletin.

International Service Recognition Award: Allan Smith Recognition by Rotary International in Great Britain and Ireland of Allan's international and world community service. Presented by President Ray on behalf of Rotary GB&I President Peter King and Rotary GB&I International Service Committee Chairman Mike Parry.
