The Products and Marketing team from RBS International spent a day giving two
rooms at the Good Companions Club in St Clement a much-needed makeover.
The entrance foyer and lounge were looking very tired and in need of a
new coat of paint (or three). The foyer had wooden panelling on the
walls, which made it look very dark and the peach walls and border in
the lounge had seen better days. After much sanding and several coats of
paint, the rooms were transformed into light, bright areas.
John Lindon, Head of Community Investment based in the Isle of Man, was
able to join the team for the day. He explains why the team chose this
project. "This has been a great project to get involved in and the team
worked really hard to transform the two rooms. Smaller charities like
the Good Companions Club are often overlooked, so we were delighted to
be able to help improve the surroundings for those who attend."
Angie Falle, Centre Manager, was thrilled with the finished result. She
said, "The Good Companions Club was delighted that the team at RBS
International donated their time and effort to revamp our lounge and
entrance hall here at St Clement. The rooms had not been decorated for
some time and both were looking tired and dated. Our members use the
club here as their home from home, so they were thrilled that their
'home' was going to be getting a face-lift".
"We would like to thank the team for choosing The Good Companions Club
for a community project, one that will be enjoyed by many happy club
users. You really made our 'recycled teenagers' very happy, as the
elderly tend to be a forgotten category when it comes to community
projects."
