Rotary Peace Dinner
Pomme D'Or Hotel Friday 20th September 2013
19.00 for 19.30 Dress Smart Casual
The dinner will be followed by two presentations covering different ground to those at the Seminar on Saturday 21st September.
The speakers will describe the contribution made by Rotary International in the promotion of Peace.
Our two speakers have made particular contributions to this effort in recent years. One, Allan Jagger, as a Director of Rotary International overseeing the world wide programme created by Rotary. Allan is a plain speaking Yorkshire man with a marvellous sense of humour.
The other is Jersey's own Rich Wainwright, who in 2011, sponsored by Rotary District 1110 (the Rotary area to which both Jersey clubs belong) attended Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand to join the Rotary Peace and Conflict Studies program. He has subsequently been using the skills he learnt in the field and his presentation will include both video and still photography illustrating his work.
This promises to be an interesting and illuminating start to the weekend.
