Annan Rotary introduced the Rotary Young Artist competition to our local primary schools for the first time this summer term and were delighted to receive an amazing 62 entries from 6 schools (Brydekirk, Elmvale, Hecklegirth, Kirkpatrick Fleming, Springfield and St. Columba’s)
Judging took place by local artists Claire Sutherland and Jack O’Hara, and last Tuesday (25th June) the results were announced, with the winners presented at the end of term assemblies –
1st Nikola Cylinska, Hecklegirth
2nd Josie Halliday, Kirkpatrick Fleming
3rd Kanyin Weir, Kirkpatrick Fleming
Commended, Brooke Rogerson Elmvale
Commended, Skylar McMillan
The 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners received Hobby Craft vouchers, provided by Annan Rotary Club, and the winning painting goes through to be judged in the next stage of the competition, the Rotary District heat, in the autumn.
