defibrillators for public use in Broughty.

The Rotary Club of Broughty Ferry wanted to improve the availability of defibrillators for public use in Broughty. With a recent one installed at the West end of Brook Street, they felt one was need at the East end too and with the popularity of the Castle Green, here was the ideal place.

After fundraising by Broughty Ferry Rotary club and with the help of City of Dundee Council’s Community Regeneration Fund, they raised enough funds to install a unit for public use at all times, situated on the outside of the Castle Green Leisure Centre. Our local council were also very supportive in installing the unit, complete with power supply and Broughty Rotary thank them very much for their help.

There is a Rotary Club in most towns and they are very supportive of local good causes, at the same time supporting Rotary International for world-wide projects like Polio vaccination, as well as clean-water projects and sanitation work in less privileged countries and much more. The money that you may give to Rotary goes 100% to these projects with all the work done behind the scenes carried out by members, on a voluntary basis.

A ‘cPad’ unit (Community Public Access Defibrillator) like this is always locked with a keypad for access. 999 gives you the code for opening the unit and accessing the defibrillator.
