The Rotary Club of Wokingham announces 75th anniversary year

We are delighted to announce that we are celebrating 75 years since the Rotary Club of Wokingham was formed in March 1951. The Rotary year started on the 1st July.

Embracing the Rotary motto of “Service above Self”, our club members fundraise and volunteer to support local causes and help our community in and around Wokingham.

Projects and events have ranged from golfing days, the annual fireworks display at Cantley Park, supporting Young Carers, Young Musicians, Rotary Children’s Fun Day at Addington School. and regularly running pig races at the Winter Carnival & May Fayre. We also regularly collect outside supermarkets, allowing us to provide food vouchers for those who need extra help across the festive period. We organise events addressing international disasters such as Polio Plus, Ukraine (contributions to generators, medical supplies and an ambulance) and support organisations such as Shelter Box and Aqua Box. Monies raised through our fundraising efforts also result in donations to a wide range of local charities.

Club President Bruce Weir said “We are looking forward to another busy year of activities and would like to thank our local Wokingham residents for their strong and generous support over the years. It is a testament to the community spirit of Wokingham that we can continue to run our events and projects.”

We are also very excited to announce that we have collaborated with SD Studios Design and Digital Ltd for a special brand & marketing campaign to celebrate 75 years. SD Studios are a local innovative design & digital development studio who joined us as a Corporate Rotary member in October 2024. They have played an integral part in planning our anniversary year.

Our club members, families and special guests will be celebrating the 75th anniversary at an event in April 2026 hosted by Wellington College in Crowthorne.
