£40,000 raised at 2024 Fireworks Event

Monies raised go to Home Start & other local causes

On Wednesday 4th December, representatives of Wokingham Lions, Windsor Forest Unicorns, Easthampstead Rotary and Wokingham Rotary clubs gathered for presentation of cheques to the charities supported by the Fireworks Extravaganza held in November 2024.

We are delighted to share that a total of £40,000 was raised by this event. This money was distributed equally across the four organising groups, who had each nominated a main beneficiary for the funds raised.

The main beneficiary of the money allocated to our Rotary club was Home Start. A charity close to our President's heart, and who we heard from at a club meeting earlier in the year.

The Home Start team were also helping with volunteering duties at the event itself, so were able to experience the procession & fireworks first hand!

We presented Home Start with a cheque for £5,500 and as a result of registering with The Big Give Christmas Challenge have been able to donate a further £4000, bring our total donation to £9,500!

We are very pleased to support this charity and the vital work they do for young families in our Wokingham community.

The remaining £4,500 from the Fireworks Extravaganza will be allocated to other local charities soon.
