The Club has had a Stall at the regular Town’s Farmers’ Markets for a number of years. The last one of this year (our 18th), on 21 Sep, publicised an up-coming Hearing Information Day at the local Hearing Dogs charity the following Friday, and was also aimed at raising funds for local charities. For a donation visitors to the Stall were invited to guess the number of “puppies” (fluffy toys) in a crate. We had 97 guesses, ranging from 46 to 998, the answer was 169. The Stall raised just under £500 on the day, a number of visitors booked in for the Information Day and 2 of our visitors expressed a keen interest on joining the Club, and attended their first meeting 8 days later.
The New Garden was officially open on Tuesday 19th October by Rotary President Christopher Tyrer with an informal ceremony involving school staff and pupils
