Princes Risborough Tree of Light gets record support.
This year's Tree of Light in Princes Risborough has beaten all records, with nearly £6,000 raised and over 250 people, encouraged by the kind weather, attending the Dedication Ceremony held on Sunday 27 November 2016. The service was conducted by the Rev. Steve Williams and the lights were turned on by the Town Mayor.
The Tree of Light provides an opportunity to remember a loved one by dedicating a light on the Tree. It is organised by Princes Risborough Rotary Club and Rotary Club President John Biggs said “The importance of the Tree of Light to local people has grown steadily since the Rotary Club started it in 2008 and the record amount raised this year of almost £6,000, which will support both Rennie Grove Hospice Care and our own charitable and community activities, together with the excellent attendance of more than 250 at the Dedication Ceremony, confirm the much valued place that the event now holds in the town's calendar".
