What is Rotary lnternational?

Rotarians serve their communities by devoting time, energy and independent skills to a wide range of projects worldwide. The motto "Service above Self" still remains as the aim of the Rotary organisation, after one hundred years of work.
It is a truly international organisation called Rotary lnternational (R.I.) and in the United Kingdom the subsidiary unit is called Rotary lnternational in Great Britain and lreland (R.I.B.I.)
The headquarters of R.l.B.l in Alcester, serving some 55,000 members throughout the
UK and lreland. The Clubs are divided into 29 Districts.
An R.l.B.l. President is appointed each year and works with the 29 District Governors with support from Club Councils, Districts and R.l.B.l. administration. The incumbent President of R.l. decides a theme for the year and R.l.B.l suggests projects for consideration by the Districts which, when accepted are then
passed to the Clubs for consideration.
