Effect of new District boundaries on District Designated Funds
Please see the Foundation committee website pages for the latest message from Ban Ki- Moon, the Secretary General of the United Nations on the final stages in the campaign to end polio and the effect of the new district boundaries on District Designated Funds.
It is confirmed that, for the purposes of calculating DDF, past contributions made by clubs move with those clubs to their new District. For example, if a new District is formed in 2013/14 their DDF will be comprised of 50% of the Annual Fund-Share giving from the clubs in 2010/11. This amount is calculated manually then transferred from the old District to the new District in the SHARE database.
If the old District has a remaining DDF balance, then the balance is distributed among the new Districts based on the percentage of contributing clubs (in 2010/11) which moved to that District.
So when a new District is formed the DDF is not lost, it follows the club wherever it goes.
Also, please remember that November is Rotary Foundation Month!
