Marlow Rotary Club runs its annual Boat Trip for Senior Citizens
Marlow Rotary Club chartered the passenger vessel, Oxford, from Salters Steamers on the 17 July to run its Senior Citizens Boat Trips on the River Thames, starting from Salters’ jetty in Higginson Park, Marlow. Morning and afternoon trips each saw more than eighty elderly participants enjoy passing through Marlow lock on their way to Cookham and back.
The trips would not have been possible without the support of the Inner Wheel Club of Marlow, who provided copious refreshments and drinks, and the financial help of the Shanly Foundation.
We are grateful for the thanks and compliments which we received, of which these are a few:
“I would like to compliment the Marlow Rotary Club and all your volunteers for such an efficient, well-planned boat trip - could not have been bettered by the Royal Navy.”
“Thank you for arranging such a good outing for we Senior Folk.”
“Thank you for a delightful and well-organised boat trip today.”
Many of the passengers were new to the trip this year. We hope they are looking forward to repeating the experience in 2025.
