Twyford & Ruscombe Theatre Group (TRTG) and The Jungle Book.

The Twyford & Ruscombe Theatre Group (TRTG) staged a dress rehearsal of the Jungle Book for children & adults with Special Needs at Loddon Hall, Twyford in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Loddon Vale.

This event has been running for over 30 years, by combining the resources of the Rotary Clubs of Loddon Vale and Reading Maiden Erlegh, Special Needs schools, a range of charities who help people who’ve lost touch in our communities, care homes and BBC Radio Berkshire we’ve been able to raise the audience level to over 160 people. The attendees ranged from children through adults to elderly people with Special Needs from & including Addington School, Abbeyfield Care Home, Me2 Club, Barnardo's School, Reading Family Aid, Rose Buddies, Mencap Wokingham and The Link Scheme.

Many of the classical PANTO ploys were included in this adaptation of Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book with plenty of songs, dance, comedy and even a little slapstick. The perfect antidote to the January blues, TRTG brought us oodles of sunshine, fun and music with all their usual panache! There was much cheering, shouting and booing throughout the show much to the delight of the cast and the younger members of the audience. At the end of the show, the applause was acclamation enough and President Terry thanked everyone for participating so well in an enjoyable night of fantasy.
