AFTERNOON TEA AT ROWANS CAFE
In spite of all the rain and wind today, our Elderly Friends were out in force to join us for afternoon tea at the Café @ Rowan’s Garden Centre. We were able to meet up with new friends today which made a lovely afternoon more special. Thanks to our Rotarian drivers and various carers everyone found their way to this pretty café and Garden Centre in Chalfont St Giles
Pedro the manager of Café @ Rowan Garden Centre and his staff, pulled out all the stops as the rain came tumbling down. They had all of us placed indoors within a few minutes of the first fat plops of rain hitting the gazebo under which we were sitting. It was almost of game of sardines at one point, but quickly everyone was seated and served with a gorgeous tea of small sandwiches, scones with clotted cream & jam and finished off with delicious petit fours. All this was washed down with hot tea and coffee.
Everyone eventually left with the promise of meeting up again before the end of the summer, next time with plenty of sunshine on the menu.
