£14,000 for CHAS
As part of its Centenary celebration, the Kate Kennedy Club hired a spectacular ‘Spiegeltent’ from Holland. The Club lent it, free of charge, to St Andrews Rotary as the venue for a fundraising evening on behalf of CHAS: Children’s Hospices Across Scotland. Seven local groups – StAMP, St Andrews Brass, StAFCO, Byre Youth & Community Arts, Fife Youth Jazz Orchestra, The Other Guys and the St Andrews Community Choir, over 100 musicians in all – provided the live entertainment. The show ended with a special performance on video by St Andrews born international singer/songwriter KT Tunstall. Thanks to the support of local businesses - including terrific raffle prizes – an audience of nearly 400 and some exceptionally generous donations, KT Tunstall’s Kommunity Kabaret raised £14,000 for CHAS. A great result from a great evening.
