Colin Brown welcomed guest Rotarian John Coker from Frederiksburg,
Virginia, and his wife Linda, and presented them with the Club banner.
Other business included reports on the recent 'Celtic Ceilidh' which
raised an impressive £11,500 for the Doddie Weir Foundation, the
approaching garden party and the 80th year of the City Foursomes
competition. The Elgin Slaver was presented to Douglas Jackson for his
devoted work on the International Golf Tournament. The speaker was
member of the Club, David Hill, a former R and A Open Championship
Secretary, in conversation with Colin Brown, discussing ‘A Memory from
the Past’, some of his Open Golf Experiences. Douglas Jackson gave the
vote of thanks.
