President Jean-Marc Murré welcomed members and guests to the packed Burns Lunch fellowship meeting. He gave warm thanks and farewell gifts to members Flora Selwyn and Austin Dunn who are moving away from the area. The excellent lunch, provided by staff of the New Club, followed the formal structure of Burns’ celebrations. Piper Diarmid Lindsay accompanied chef Robert Campbell bringing in the haggis for the address by Master of Ceremonies, Alan MacDonald. The meal which was greatly enjoyed was followed by the Immortal Memory given by Frank Quinault. Gordon Wowk gave the toast to the lassies; Gillian Craig gave the reply. Ann Baird and Reverend Ian Hamilton entertained with songs including Ae fond kiss, Whistle and I’ll come tae ye, Jon Anderson, and My luve is like a red, red, rose, followed by a piano medley of love-songs and finally, audience singing. MC Alan MacDonald gave the vote of thanks
