The meeting took the form of a Burns’ lunch which was much enjoyed by the many members present. President Frank Quinault introduced several guests before outlining plans for future events: the performance of ’So you think you know your History’ and the ‘Antiques Road Show’. Piper Dennis Hopper led in the platter which the chef placed on the top table for Alan MacDonald to give the address to the haggis. Former president of the club, Ian Johnston gave the ‘Immortal Memory’ and Jimmy MacGregor the toast to the ladies. Angela Fowlis replied on behalf of the lassies. Entertainment followed the meal: Ann Baird sang ‘Comin’ through the rye’, 'The Gallant Weaver’, 'Ae fond kiss’ and ‘A man’s a man for a’ that’, accompanied by Reverend Ian Hamilton who then played his own arrangement of ‘Rabbie….a rantin’ rovin’ Rotary Rendition’. The meeting, which was enjoyed by all, ended with the singing of ‘Auld Lang Syne’ and the Rotary toast.
