Classic Cars on Show at the West Sands
Seventy Classic Cars visited the West Sands in St Andrews on Sunday 22nd August, thanks to the Rotary Clubs of St Andrews and Blairgowrie.
The Cars were on route from Blairgowrie to Atholl Palace in Perthshire and were on show at the West Sands in St Andrews from around 11.30 am until 1.30 pm.
This is one of several rally’s which take place around the UK to commemorate “National Drive it Day”, when historic vehicle enthusiasts and the public have the opportunity to celebrate the “ One Thousand Mile Trial” first organised in 1900 to prove the viability of the then new invention, the motor car.
The Rotary Club of Blairgowrie have raised over £72000 over past years and this year’s proceeds will be distributed between, Alzheimer Scotland, Bowel Cancer and Rotary local charities.
Amongst the large variety and range of cars will be four brand new Bentleys, so even if it’s just to dream, locals and beach goers enjoyed a motoring treat at the West Sands.
