St Andrews Rotary Celebration at Freedom Fellowship Lunch

Wednesday 18 August was a special and much-anticipated celebration for St Andrews Rotary -their first in-person meeting since March 2020. Forty-three members, their family and friends and two visiting guests from Germany, sat down for a celebratory social lunch in the New Club overlooking the Old Course and the sun-covered West Sands.

President Colin Mitchell gave a formal welcome, saying how pleased he was that regular online meetings had ended, that the Covid lock-down strict regulations and the uncertainties of the past eighteen months have at last relaxed to enable people to socialise again. It was a moment for celebration.

The formalities ended and gave way to fellowship and socialising over lunch (main course followed by coffee and shortbread). Judging by the noise levels, there were lots of friends to greet again for the first time in ages and lots of news to catch up with! This was the first meeting for the club in its new lunch venue……..much enjoyed by all.
