Rob Roy's Way

President Jim Macgregor trod the path of his famous clan member Rob Roy Macgregor raising almost £2000 in a sponsored walk accompanied by pipers form the Club


Born in 1671 Rob Roy Macgregor was a strong fit man.

President Jim Macgregor is also a fit man and pushed through the 60 mile barrier in his quest to raise money for local charities.  He was supported on his way by members of the Club setting off from Pitlochry to the inspiring sound of the pipes played by Dennis Hopper.

The 3 beneficiaries will be The St Andrews Preservation Trust's Pride of Place Awards in the Old Parliment Hall on the 19th September; St Andrews in Bloom, and the Botanic Gardens.

Chariots of Fire 2012 run on West Sands

more Charity Run on West Sands for Sue Ryder Care. Rotary Club of St Andrews helped set up the village, marshalled 200 runners and raised donations for Polio Plus. All runners received medals kindly donated by Scores Hotel.
