Krishnaswamy Bangarpet welcomed visitors to the Club: mother and son, Harriet Hilton and Hilton Swing from North Carolina representing the Rotary Clubs of Hendersonville (founded in 1927) and the Four Seasons Rotary Club; Rachel Anderson, Kyle Moir and James Martin from Corporate Member Thorntons St Andrews; 1010 District Assistant Governor Irene Walker. He then invested Colin Brown as Club President for the year 2026-27. Colin thanked members Hamish Tait and Colin Mitchell for their guidance and for their ’service above self’. Following lunch Colin looked back on some of the main events of the past year: Young Carers Awards, the Schools Forum, Primary Schools Quiz and Football Competition, the Life Sciences Day, Young Chef and Young Musician Competition, and RYLA (Rotary Young Leaders Award). Among many fund-raising events he mentioned the Dunhill Golf raffle, StAFCO concerts, carol-singing at Morrisons, and the amazing sum of £14, 500 raised at the KK/KT Tunstall Community Concert for which Frank Quinault received well-deserved applause. Overall a total of £33,725 was raised during the year for good causes locally, nationally and world-wide. Colin then gave an outline of the plans for the coming year and how members could use their skills and interests for the benefit of the Club as it works with and for the wider community, including fund-raising, membership, fellowship, and particularly working towards the Club’s 100th anniversary. Irene Walker described the Club as ‘a well-oiled machine’ and offered her support with the ‘good plans for the future.'
