Wheelbarrow Race in Sunninghill

Great village event in conjunction with St Michael’s School PTA and the Windsor Lions


We are delighted to announce that the Sunninghill Wheelbarrow Race is returning for 2025! 

Date: Monday, 5 May 2025 

Time: 12pm noon 

Starting Location: School Road Car Park, Sunninghill

The course distance is 1 mile (finishing at St Michael’s School playground, where hot drinks, cold refreshments, and a BBQ will be waiting).

This much-loved community event is now a joint venture between the Rotary Club of Ascot, the Windsor and Ascot Lions, and the St Michael’s Primary School PTA. 

Together, we’re raising vital funds for the Ascot Day Centre and vital local charities.

We support local schools with both funds and equipment. Sometimes we combine with other charities to raise enough to buy more expensive items (e.g. minibuses, or fitting them out and laptop computers)

We have partner clubs in Gulpen/Vaals (Netherlands), Ingelheim (Germany) and St Nazaire (France). We have been enjoying exchange visits for many years.

During the last two years we have worked with other Rotary clubs (local and in Germany), to raise money for the new Thames Hospice. This support is on-going as we help develop and pay for the training of nurses and supply of garden furniture.
