Tonight we are lucky enough to have our 2 RYLA candidates coming to tell us all about their week long experience at Grafham Water Activity centre.
The annual Rotary Young Leaders Award residential week is led by a variety of experienced coaches and tutors. It includes a huge range of different challenges including sports, heights, camping, map reading, business modelling, public speaking and many more. The 40+ candidates work in teams and encourage each other to meet these challenges head on.
Candidates are between 18 - 26 years old and come from a variety of business, apprenticeship, emergency services and education backgrounds.
Each one is sponsored by a Rotary Club and the costs are covered.
Several club members have, through the years, supported and enabled the young people in various roles during the week and have always been struck by the enthusiastic response and the camaraderie that builds amongst groups as they grow and develope through the time.
