Jan 2020 Girton Memory Cafe - Panto Time !

Fri, Jan 3rd 2020 at 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Organiser Richard de Horsey. The Memory Cafe welcomes All. A warm welcome for people with dementia or other problems associated memory loss (and their families / carers). Our 106th event! Theme - Pantomime Fun !

Today we were lucky with the mild weather and enjoyed a full house. Tasty assorted home made cakes were on offer thanks to Sharleen, Eileen & Suzie. There were wacky costumes and outlandish wigs and songs and poems to delight.  We even attempted a brief pantomime that turned out to be a hoot and gave everyone a giggle.  Oswald the ostrich and Tricky Dicky, his handler, made an appearance along with the Ugly Sisters, Hernia and Nausea. Luckily the handsome prince saved the day and Cinders was happy ever after !

Everyone is Welcome !

The aim is to evoke old memories that are complete and comfortable through, for example, refreshments in china cups, home made cakes, photos and documents from past years, songs and poems and informal talks.
