We are honoured to start off the 10 full days of fun that is the Girton Annual Feast 2019 -
Celebrating 50 years since the 1969 First Moon landing !
We also invite you to celebrate our 100th session of Memory Cafe with us !
Everyone is Welcome !
The sun was streaming in and the atmosphere was delightfully daft. We had a very full house and lots of action. The Chair of the District Council Douglas deLacy came to congratulate us on our achievements.
Richard took the opportunity to present Rotary Certificates of Appreciation to thank our stalwart team of helpers who help set up the room, serve and make coffee and tea, enhance the mood and help with the singing - we couldn't operate with out you - so Thank You !
The Flukes Ukelele Band made a welcome return by popular demand and played up a storm - singing old favourites like 'Yellow Bird' and Summer Holidays'.
Fancy Dress was the order of the day all based around Stars, Moons, Space exploration, NASA and the Moon Landings in 1969. All our songs were carefully chosen to reflect our theme, like 'Blue Moon', 'Moonlight Bay' and 'Twinkle Twinkle' (all 3 verses too !). WHAT FUN !
Helpers 9am please.

The aim is to evoke old memories that are complete and comfortable through, for example, refreshments in china cups, home made cakes, photos and documents from past years, songs and poems and informal talks.
