President James was delighted to start the meeting with the Induction of our new member Amanda Morgan. She has been a Rotaractor in the past and is happy to be able to now join as a full member.
Welcome Amanda !
Today we hear from one of our brilliant scholars who is sponsored to study at Cambridge for 2018-2019.
Alex's interests lie in the molecular detail of the body and how it works. His Masters is concentrating on Dementia, Tau protein build up in the brain and developing a diagnostic test for drug therapies. He works in the MRC Institute at Addenbrookes which includes in its history the discovery of the structure of DNA by Watson, Crick and Franklin. We found the subject fascinating as was evident from the many and varied questions that Alex answered with confidence.
Happy New Year to You All !
