Today we welcomed the sunshine and had a thoughtful, humerous and moving celebration of Poppy Day and all that it represents. Poppies were on sale. Our Troupe dressed up for the occassion and sang some of those memorable war songs like the QuarterMasters Stores, There's Something about a Sailor and Bless 'Em All. Our 'moments of culture' included the famous Rupert Brooke poems 'Grantchester' and 'The Soldier' plus Vickys great poem 'Lest We Forget', while Martin & Ann raised some smiles as they reminisced about the changes we have all experienced from 1940 to now. Our very own Colonel Adamson brought things to life by wearing his Falklands uniform including surprisingly heavy helmet and flak jacket and showing a rifle and bayonet.
