Sep 2018 RYLA Open Afternoon - come and meet our candidates

Sun, Sep 2nd 2018 at 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Tea and chat available.

Today this years RYLA [Rotary Young Leaders Award] week gets underway at Grafham Water Activity Centre.

Around 50 candidates 18-24years old from across East Anglia come together for a diverse and challenging week of indoor and outdoor activities.  They face individual and team posers with the excellent supportive help of the resident tutors.

We have sponsored Mark Abrahams this year (from Gibbs-Denley) - in The Green Team.

On Sunday we rotarians had an opportunity to make an informal visit to the course to see some of the sports on offer and exchange chat over tea/coffe and cake.

Paul, Jan, Mike, Alan & Sian went over on a lovely sunny day to meet Mark and some of the other candidates.

We enjoyed a tour with Robin Wraight (Mr RYLA for D1080) and admired the great range of equipment and Facilities on offer.

This years group are one third female and two thirds male and across the whole age range.

We look forward to welcome Mark to a Club Meeting to hear about his adventures and to award him his well deserved Certificate of Achievement.
