Today we were lucky to have a sunny and dry morning for our work.
Paul was so keen he had finished his Oakington area by 8.30am !
David and Ian Copeland whistled along the Histon leg while Sian & Alan with 5 others got busy around Gretton School and along the Girton leg.
Altogether we found over 12 big bags of rubbish - its amazing what is abandoned on the grass verges and hedgerows. Our haul included cans, plastic bottles, sharp metal, sandwich wrappers, cigarette packets, glass bottles (vodka), a small clog, car trim, a bicycle pedal, 2 buckets, 2 pillows and a motorbike helmet visor !
We had a few people who took the time to stop and say thank you for our efforts, which was very nice !
Thank You to all involved, including those that donated bin space to take the full bags.
WATCH OUT FOR OUR NEXT COLLECTION DATE - Do Come Along - Many Hands Make Light Work !
David distributed equipment and high vis Rotary tabards.
Bag hoops, plastic bin bags and long-armed pickers were available.
Bring tough gloves and wear solid footwear and long trousers are recommended.
